About the Skylands BMW Riders

"The purpose of this organization shall be the advancement of safe and careful motorcycle riding, to bring about and foster a spirit of unity, comradeship and community service and to hold and promote motorcycle events in such a manner as to reflect credit on the entire motorcycling fraternity."

- Bylaws of the Skylands BMW Riders

Since our formation in 1991, Skylands BMW Riders has taken great pride in its status as an active "riding" club, always striving to offer a variety of activities for its diverse and interesting group of members. While our roots and our hearts are with the legendary motorcycles of Germany, we welcome owners of all makes of motorcycle.

The club holds at least one organized club ride each month between April and September, and we follow the weekly Polar Bear Club ride schedule from October through March. We stand strongly behind the theme of "ride your own ride". What this means is we won't leave anyone behind if you want to "smell the roses" along the way.

If you're looking for more, however, we assure you that virtually every weekend there will be a member planning a ride and looking for some riding partners. Members have access to the club's chat board where many of these rides and other events are discussed. We also plan several weekend trips during the year, and members often join together for rides to national BMW MOA, RA rallies and other local rallies. Other social activities include a summer picnic and annual awards dinner (usually in mid-January).

Skylands club meetings are the first Monday of each month and held primarily at the Lamplighter Restaurant in Chester, NJ (190 West Main Street, Chester, NJ, 07930 / (908) 879-4080). Meeting locations are subject to change, however, so please check the calendar. Dues are $25 annually.

Our members have intimate knowledge of some of the best roads in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York and beyond. Come join us at a meeting or for a ride, make some new friends, and share your favorite ride with us!

Ride Slow, Ride Fast, Ride Hard, and Ride Alone;
Ride with Purpose, Ride for Fun, Ride with a Friend, Ride Safe - Just Ride
